When did Elletricity.com begin?

Elletricity.com officially opened under the name Elletricity Designs several years ago. Since I didn't know anything about domains or hosting, I built up my website on a Myspace profile, with contests, site models, and the works.

In June of 2009, I bought the domain elletricity.com and found some awesome free hosting. Though I was on a website, my content still mainly consisted of Myspace-related services.

In August 2009, I started using Tumblr. Everything changed. I started to focus my content on Tumblr themes, and for a while, my website was basically inactive. I deleted my Wordpress software and left Elletricity.com empty for almost a year. After realizing that I was wasting my site space, I finally made the decision to use a Tumblr blog on Elletricity.com, and here we are.

Where did you buy your domain/hosting?

I bought my domain name from Godaddy.com for roughly $15 USD/2 years. Be sure to look for coupons! I am hosted by CBD Hosting for free!

What fonts did you use for your theme?

I used a medium weight of Museo, which you can find by searching Google.

Can I use the theme you're using on Elletricity.com?

Sorry, this theme is not available for public use.

Can you make a theme for me? What about some major edits to one of your themes? Do you take requests for themes/graphics?

Apologies, but I don't take free requests.

How much do custom themes cost?

Take a look at Elletricity.com's services page for pricing.

What other services do you offer besides Tumblr themes?

I offer a variety of services, including graphics (backgrounds, banner, icons, etc), Wordpress themes, and full website design. For a full list, please visit the services page.

Why are your themes under Elleusine and not Elletricity?

Elleusine was originally Elletricity, but I decided to separate personal and theme posts. Elleusine is my personal tumblelog and Elletricity is my design tumblelog. Elleusine is my primary account.

Follow me? I'll follow you back!

Sorry, but I don't believe in follow for follow. If I like your content, I'll follow you on my personal account.

Can you promote me? P4P!

I only promote pages that I deem worthy of mentioning. If I don't know you or your site, I am not likely to promote you.

Why do you have two different ask boxes on your contact page?

I have two different accounts - one for my main page, which is design-related content, and one for just answering theme-related issues and questions. Therefore, I have two different ask forms for two different types of questions.

Themes

Where can I find your themes?

You can find my themes at my official theme archive or at Korean Themes.

Where can I find Tumblook?

Tumblook is located on my personal blog, right here.

Why aren't my follow/dashboard/like/reblog buttons showing up?

Tumblr has a lot of errors and sometimes they don't show up. It may also have to do with a slow Internet connection - if your connection is too slow, it won't load because it's the last thing on the page to load. Rest assured, this has nothing to do with the theme you're using.

Where's my ask/submit boxes? How do I enable them?

Please note that ask and submit buttons are *not* part of your theme and cannot be "enabled" within the theme options. You will need to enable them in your settings. Click on the title of your tumblelog on your dashboard, then click on Settings in the right column. Scroll down a bit. The fourth section should be your ask options and the fifth should be your submit options.

How do you do __________ on this theme of yours that I'm using?

Please check your appearance options before you ask.

Can you help me change something on this theme?

Unless it's a minor edit, like tweaking the tag color or adding a link somewhere, I don't customize my own themes for other people. That defeats the purpose of creating themes. It also opens me up to a lot more work than I can really manage without monetary compensation. If you would like me to make edits to your theme, contact me and we can discuss pricing. If not, feel free to play with the codes yourself.

Can you help me remove __________ from my theme?

Everything in my themes except for outside elements (Disqus, Streampad, Twitter, etc.) are necessary for a functional theme. I do not and will not tell people how to remove parts of my themes. Like I said in the above question, feel free to play with the codes yourself.

Where did you get your fonts from?

How do you get custom fonts to work online?

Sometimes I use Fontsquirrel.com's @font-face generator, but mainly I use Cufon.

How do you enable endless scrolling?

What themes do you currently support with troubleshooting and updates?

All themes listed here are supported, except for Fake and Poppy.

Can I take off your credit on the theme I'm using?

I prefer that you didn't. Leave at least the hidden credit in the HTML and a visible link somewhere that credits me as the original author in case somebody wants to know where to get the theme!

Personal

Who are you? Where are you from?

My name is Gabrielle Wee. I'm a twenty-one year old college student currently residing in the Bay Area.

What interested you in graphic design/web design?

I've always been interested in art and design. When I was twelve years old, I started up my very first Xanga account. I didn't know a thing about coding or HTML or CSS, but Xanga's premium membership trial offered me access to premium "skins". When my trial expired, so did the skin, and I was forced to look for alternatives to the ugly default layout.

I transitioned from Myspace to my own website, and then finally, Tumblr. I just have this issue with using other people's designs if I can make my own!

What languages do you know?

As far as written and spoken languages go, I speak English and a little bit of Mandarin Chinese. I don't speak Tagalog, so please don't send me messages in Tagalog!

As far as markup and programming languages go, I know HTML and CSS. I'm learning Javascript and PHP, and I'm eventually going to teach myself Ruby.

How did you learn so much about coding?

Much of what I know is self-taught. Google, W3 Schools, and other coding websites were extremely helpful.

What programs do you use?

I use Photoshop CS5 and occasionally Illustrator CS5. I don't use coding programs simply because I prefer to code by hand.

Did you create those images of condoms with famous logos & slogans Photshopped on the front?

No, I didn't. A famous website mistakenly credited me as the artist and my search page on Google is now littered with imitation articles. Please pay them no mind!

Can I get your number/address?

Sorry, but I don't give those out to people I don't know.
